We will be having our first annual charity yard sale at our facility off of 7th St/Carefree Hwy.

The first Saturday of every month our Festival on the Hill takes place. This is an outdoor art fair right at our store.

SATURDAY OCTOBER 29th - Cave Creek Wicked Event
We will have a booth at the Wicked event along with a Haunting Hounds Trick-or-Treating with your dog event at our store. This is a huge event which includes a pet costume contest. Last year there were 250 pets that entered.
We need people to work our booth at this event along with extra people to work at our store.

The following is a description of what is needed for the Festival on the Hill events:
(1 volunteer) Roxie's: 9-5pm- Help with store sales
(2 volunteers) Set-up: 8-9am - Help vendors & artists get their tents up and cars unloaded
(2 volunteers) AGN Booth: 9-3pm - Pet toy & supply sales, hand out information about AGN (Animal Guardian Network)
(1 volunteer) Thieves Market: 9-12pm - Hand out event flyers to shoppers (event taking place across the street from our store)
(1 volunteer) Floater: 9-12pm - Cover booths for vendors/artists who need a food or bathroom break
(1 volunteer) Floater:12-3pm - Cover booths for vendors/artists who need a food or bathroom break
**floaters may have other jobs like popcorn or raffle ticket sales-not confirmed yet**
(2 volunteers) Take-down: 3-4pm Help vendors & artists breakdown tents & load their cars, general clean-up

Other info: Please dress comfortably (nice t-shirt & shorts or pants) and comfortable shoes. Please do not wear shirts representing other animal related organizations. We are hoping to have festival t-shirts but they may not be in time for this event. Bottled water will be provided.

A party in the park for pets and their humans includes look-alike, canine idol and best trick contests, a demonstration by the Gilbert Police Department K-9 unit, a lure course, dog wash, arts and crafts, food and product vendors and raffle prizes. An 11:30 a.m. alumni parade features dogs who were adopted from Friends for Life Animal Sanctuary and Rescue. A portion of proceeds benefits Friends for Life Animal Rescue. Also we have been alerted to a 3 yr old female that needs to be moved out of her current situation. She's being bullied by a child and the older resident dog. She's escaped several times now after being left with a neighbor when her owners left the state. If anyone can foster this little girl while we work on a more permenant situation please let Wendy know by emailing asahishibas@prodigy.net.

Many thanks to everyone who put on their thinking caps and spread the word for Scout. He has a place to go for 10 days to chill out and get happy and then will go to his foster location for further rehab and evaluation.

This poor little guy was dumped at the Humane Society by his "family". He is now starting to realize they are not coming back for him. When he was younger he survived a brutal attack by 2 pit mixes, his chest was ripped open, now to make it to 11 years old just to end up being dumped at the Humane Society and scheduled to die.
I know everyone cares about the shibas but this time it requires more to save him. I am willing to take him into my group but I need someone to foster him for 10 days before I can bring him to my facility as I have 11 dogs here along with the recent opening of our pet boarding.
This poor dog does not deserve to die just because he had a bad family.
If you can foster him for 10 days PLEASE contact me ASAP so we can save his life. He just needs a safe and secure place to rest his little head until he can come here. Due to the dog attack he can not be around aggressive or overly pushy dogs.

Update from Animal Guardian Network

This is copied from the latest Newsletter from Animal Guardian Network who has been instrumental in saving many Shiba Inus over the past year for us. Please help them out if you can.

GUARDIAN RANCH
After an exhausting few months the owner of our property is unwilling to renegotiate the terms of our lease-purchase agreement to be more in-line with the current real estate market. We were given 30 days to come up with a huge sum of money or he would take back the property forcing us to be out by May 31st.
We are heartbroken after all the time and hard work that went into making this property a safe haven for animals. Sadly, we have been left with no other choice but to leave.

Then, in our darkest hour we were presented with an incredible opportunity to own a property in just 10 years through the generosity of one of our supporters. This property is already set-up with an indoor boarding area and has a block wall enclosing 3/4 of the acre plus property. In addition, it is only 5 minutes from where we are now.
Our new property will include several large enclosed play/exercise areas for dogs, 5 covered horse stalls for seasonal and emergency horse boarding, indoor dog boarding plus outdoor kennels and space for our pet chapel.
Though the transition will be bittersweet, we feel the new property will better serve those we care for, animals in need and struggling pet families.We hope everyone will continue to support our efforts especially now during our transition.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

We are in immediate need of assistance with our move and with the set-up of our new facility. In addition to muscles we could sure use help with the following:
Handymen, Landscapers, Plumbers and Wood Workers.

The following are the highest priority projects:
3 exterior doors put in
1 utility sink put in
Minor repair on existing fencing
Setting up additional fencing
Landscape clean-up

Children's Day and Kite Festival

The Shiba Club was invited again this year to participate at the Children's Day and Kite Festival on Saturday April 2, 2011 at Margaret T. Hance Park next to the Japanese Friendship Garden from 10am to 3pm. We will have a tent for shade there for the dogs and a game for the children to play as well as an Easter Egg Hunt for the Shibas planned by Donna and Kai!

The dogs are always a big hit for the Children to come and see and you never know what antics will happen when a group of Shibas get together to show off their stuff. So Bring your Shiba, bring a chair and come enjoy a pleasant day of fun and kites!

We only had 5 volunteers come last year so we need more volunteers and dogs to come and enjoy the day. If you need directions or more information call Wendy at 623-849-5281.

These Three Amigos Need Your Help!

These 3 shibas were seized along with 27 other dogs of various breeds and 3 cats from a hoarder (2nd offense). Check out the news story at http://www.azfamily.com/news/local/Over-2-dozen--107583144.html They were living in a single wide dilapidated trailer in disgusting conditions. All of them were in tiny cages with dirty or no water and no food, sometimes for days. They were forced to stand, sit and sleep in their own waste. For these 3, that went on for EIGHT YEARS! Each have numerous old fractures along with missing and fractured teeth. The long haired shiba (Tuli) has a condition known as dry eye which went untreated eventually causing the surface of her eyes to scar. She has very little vision and the condition is irreversible. The mostly black shiba (Kieko) has suffered the most medically. He has a severe ear infection which went untreated and now he has at least 95% hearing loss. In addition he has a testicular mass which has ulcerated his skin and must feel just like he is on fire. The red shiba (Suki) also has old fractures and she too has a mass. (Perfect candidate for a therapy dog) The most impressive part of their story is not what they have been through but what they have managed to become. All 3 of these shibas are the most kind and loving dogs despite their unimaginable pain and disabilities. All they crave is a loving touch and maybe a gentle kiss or two. We had planned to network with a sanctuary for long term placement. We have since decided against it. They deserve more. We can't erase the last 8 years spent in horror but we can make sure the rest of their years are spent in a loving environment. For now though, we need everyone's help to get these angels healthy. We need monetary donations for their care. We need volunteers to come and spend time with them. Summer is just about over!!!

It's been a long hot summer here in Phoenix. The Shibas have been trying to lay low and keep cool. Email Wendy at asahishibas@prodigy.net with what your Shiba has been doing this summer and we'll post it up for all to see.
Rescue has also been busy with many turn-ins, lost and abandoned dogs. Go and check out http://www.petfinder.com/ for the Shibas we are still trying to help out.
If you have brags or cries that you want to share send them too to Wendy. Let's make our Shiba community fun and informative!!
We would like to give a big Howl Out to Akita Rescue, (AARTA), for all their continued support and help with finding and rehoming Shibas with us this summer and over the past year.
If you have any ideas for events or fun activities coming up let Wendy know. Who knows where a Shiba may show up!!

A Foster Farewell

It's with a heavy heart that we report on the passing of former foster boy Kuma. Kuma came into foster care in 2006 from the local county shelter. While in foster care, Kuma was the easy going boy of the bunch of four that shared the space with him. Never complained or fussed just went with the flow.

He found his new family and moved in at the beginning of 2007 where he was their devoted family member. He followed his "mom" to every room she went just to keep an eye on her. He so captured the family's hearts that the Sister of his "mom" adopted a shiba as well.

On May 22nd Kuma was diagnosed with Acute Luekemia and was sent home. In the early morning hours of May 23rd he let his "Mom" know it was time for him to go.

Kuma went gently over to the Rainbow Bridge to meet the others that have gone before him that morning.

Our hearts go out to Kuma's family who had him for too short of a time in life. He leaves behind a hole in their hearts but a legacy of love from a once disgarded pet.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Saturday is the Supported Entry by the Club. The Shibas show at 8:am in ring 7. Try to make the ring time to cheer on the breed and see the trophies awarded. We'll meet at 10:00am to allow the winners time to get their pictures with the Judge. There's a lot to see and lots of vendors to shop at while you're there. Special luck humans.

I rescued a human today. Her eyes met mine as she walked down the corridor peering apprehensively into the kennels. I felt her need instantly and knew I had to help her. I wagged my tail, not too exuberantly, so she wouldn't be afraid. As she stopped at my kennel I blocked her view from a little accident I had in the back of my cage. I didn't want her to know that I hadn't been walked today. Sometimes the shelter keepers get too busy and I didn't want her to think poorly of them. As she read my kennel card I hoped that she wouldn't feel sad about my past. I only have the future to look forward to and want to make a difference in someone's life. She got down on her knees and made little kissy sounds at me. I shoved my shoulder and side of my head up against the bars to comfort her. Gentle fingertips caressed my neck; she was desperate for companionship. A tear fell down her cheek and I raised my paw to assure her that all would be well. Soon my kennel door opened and her smile was so bright that I instantly jumped into her arms. I would promise to keep her safe. I would promise to always be by her side. I would promise to do everything I could to see that radiant smile and sparkle in her eyes. I was so fortunate that she came down my corridor. So many more are out there who haven't walked the corridors. So many more to be saved. At least I could save one. I rescued a human today.~Author unknown~

Max has a new home

We are happy to report that former Foster Max, now known as Colbert, has a new home with a 17 year old boy and a 15# cat named Indy.

Everything seems to be working out alright even after his immediate slip into the pool on his arrival. At least we know he can swim now.

Colbert was found at the County Shelter with many wounds on his rearend and his shy and gentle nature put him on the non-adopt list. Many thanks, again, to Akita Rescue who alerted us to his presence and helped us with his vetting. We are always thankful for their help.

Foster Home Needed for Max

Max was pulled from the Westside shelter with help from Akita Rescue who alerted us to his presence. We've been boarding him while he had some wounds looked at and to be neutered but now it's time to put him into foster care.

He's still on medical hold for adoption pending bloodwork to make sure all is good with him.

He is sweet and calm and was somewhat dumbfounded by the Akita he was sat next to. We need a foster home for him as Wendy is full. Rescue can provide all the supplies needed, xpen, crate, collar, lead, toys, food, treats but we need someone to take him in. He deserves more then being in a Vet's kennel.

This is one of the things this Club is proud to say they do , rescue their favorite breed. Please contact Wendy at asahishibas@prodigy.net if you can help.

Lost Shiba Otis, now has a new home

We are very happy to report that Otis, the lost cream boy from 4th of July, has found a new home. He has be renamed Yoshi and the family could not be happier with him. He has fit right in with the whole family.

Otis is an approx. 2-4 yr old male cream shiba who lost his way on July 4th and was found by a nice family on July 5th. They tried to find his family but did not. They were not able to keep this adorable boy due to other dogs in the family and they turned Otis in to rescue.

He is an adorable, bright and energitic young male. As is true to the nature of the breed he is quite the problem solver. He is also affectionate. He just wants to be part of a family.

We will try one more week to locate his original family, but since he is not microchipped and had no tags we hold out little hope for a happy reunion.

He will then be neutured, microchipped and placed out for adoption.

If you know anyone looking for a wonderful cream boy let them know about Otis.

We were so elated to receive this photo of fomer Foster Yuki, (cream boy), enjoying a restful moment with his new sister Mandie that we just had to share. For those of you who don't remember Yuki's story, he was rescued from the county shelter when his time was up. Carol Calder went to look at him and found him too sweet to be let go even though he had major hair loss and severly underweight. Once you look into those soulful eyes and get a gentle kiss from him you have to agree. Yuki took 7 months of rehab to get him into shape to adopt. But he was well worth the effort.

We are happy to report that Yuki has found a new and forever home. He now has a sister Shiba to run with and teach him the rules of the house. His sister is so outgoing and confident that she is the perfect fit for Yuki who is shy and reserved. He watches her closely and she is teaching him the ropes of the household.

We are so happy that he has found a home to work with his special dietary needs and embrace all that is special about him. We hope to get a picture soon of Yuki and his new family soon.

Say hello to Yuki

Yuki is an approx. 4 year old cream boy that came into rescue in very sad condition. We actually think he is closer to 2 years old, but his paperwork says 4 so we have to go with that.

He is extremely intelligent and bright. He has food allergies but has been responding nicely to a restricted diet.

He has grown back all his gorgeouse white fur and all the sores are gone. He is learning to play, loves treats and doesn't mind the feral cats that share his yard.

"This is my niece Ashley who Loves Kuma as much as I do, we walked around the corner to her house today and he was in heaven,her yard is three times the size of mine. They played together for about an hour, he had a great time and he was a good boy with her.It's very cute she is going to be 4 she will tell you his name and also tell you his breed, she loves Kuma. The other day they were watching the Dog show and she kept telling her sister wow look at that dog he looks like Kuma and did that a few times and when my other niece said look at the terrier that just came out Ashley said "Amber ,Kuma is not a terrier he's a Shiba Inu."

A Letter from former Foster Kai

Hi,

My name is Kai. I was a rescue. A great lady named Wendy took me in and took care of me and in time introduced me to my new mom. At first I didn’t really believe that she loved me and wanted to be with me forever so we had some problems. One night when I was sick from my shots, I lost my temper and bit her real bad, I thought my life was over then but she really did love me and forgave me despite the stitches she had to get.

Now I have a Mom that loves me, really understands my fears, enjoys my sense of humor and appreciates how intelligent I am. I have a nice home to play in, a big run to go out into during the day, a huge yard to play with Mom in each morning and evening, dozens of toys I get to chose, and cool stuff like steak and chicken to eat for dinner.

My mom got me a thing called a credit card and something called an allowance. She takes me to PetsMart and Home Depot and I buy anything I want. I have a truck with a special seat just for me so I can see out the windows and Mom takes me riding in it two or three times a week. A few weeks ago she took me to a place called The Bank and showed me how to put my credit card into a box and push on these little square buttons and something called money came out of the box. The money smelled like other people, but I found out I could take it to any place like McDonalds and KFC and give it to the person in the window and they’d give me hamburgers or chicken, it’s pretty cool!

I now have my own thing called a suitcase that all of my new clothes go into, it has my name on the front of it to show it’s mine. I don’t much like the clothes but Mom tells me how handsome I look in them, and the new coat has been nice on cold days. The thing I really like is called a raincoat. When it is all rainy and wet outside, Mom puts it on me and I can go out and stay dry, I like that a lot!

At night after dinner I stretch out on my sofa and watch something called TV. It is a huge magic window where all kinds of things happen. I really like looking out that window! Sometimes people walk by with different kinds of food, there are lots of other dogs, cats and birds outside the magic window, but I especially like it when the people they call CSI show up. They do real interesting things and somewhere out there really exciting music plays.

I get real annoyed at Mom when she pushes a button on a little box and the CSI people start talking real quiet. She does that when she wants to talk at a little box that she calls a phone. Sometimes I hear another voice in the phone talking back to her, what’s that all about? I bark at the voice telling it to shut up so I can hear the CSI people, but the voice just starts talking to me, too. I hate that phone and keep throwing it on the floor. I tried hiding it under the sofa the other night but it started making noise and Mom found it. She just looked at me, laughed and shook her head and started talking to the phone.

Sometimes I get to go with Mom to a place she calls work. I have lots of fun there! There are a bunch of people and they all come to see me and tell me how handsome I am, like I didn’t already know that! I am gracious though and accept their compliments and let them pet me. It’s hard work being so admired but what can I do, it pleases Mom when I am friendly to people and since they have the good taste to adore me, I can tolerate them for a while.

At night I sleep in my big Queen size bed with Mom and I have my own satin cover that she will put over me when I get cold. I snuggle up next to Mom and she pets me until I fall asleep. When I wake up in the morning she lets me bring my squeak toys onto the bed and we play catch and wrestle with them before she goes to that place called work. A couple of days a week she doesn’t even go to that work place and we play in the yard or go for a ride, or a walk or even shopping.

For my second birthday Mom took me to a place called a studio and a very nice lady who told me how handsome I am took lots of pictures of me and a few of me and Mom. Mom also took lots of pictures of me on my birthday and at Christmas. She says it’s because I’m such a gorgeous boy (of course). Here are some of the pictures to show what my life is like since I found Mom.

Sometimes I miss my friends at Wendy’s house but I’m not complaining, Mom will play with me any time I want and we have a great time. I know at last I have someone who really loves me, even if I do a bad thing sometimes.

If you are a rescue, don’t give up. I know there have to be other Moms and maybe Dads out there who will love you as my Mom loves me and it’s worth waiting for, you’ll see.

I have to go now as it’s almost time for Mom to come home and I want to meet her at the door with hugs and kisses so she’ll know how glad I am that we found each other.

A Sad Rescue Update

It's with heavy heart we inform the Shiba Community of the passing of Rescue Hana.

She never found her new family but was loved and cared for by her rescue volunteers over the past years.

What caused her quick and rapid decline is unknown. We hope to know more in the next week.

We will miss her greetings at the door after work, her joyous walks in the neighborhood and her encouragement to hurry and get the dinner dish to her.

So Hana goes gently into the night with all paws at "Camp Shiba" giving a soft prayer and howl to wish her quiet journey over to the rainbow bridge to meet those who have preceeded her.

A Merry Christmas for Kuma

We are so very happy to report that Kuma has been adopted and is enjoying the start of a New Year in a New Home.

Santa Paws must have heard our wishes and his adoption was settled before Christmas but his arrival was delayed until after the Holiday.

His new family could hardly wait and have taken time off from work to make sure he gets settled in.

Moose "aka Danny" has a forever home

We are happy to report that Moose has found a new home and has a new best friend Mocha. Moose loves his new home and new name and enjoys playing with all of Mocha's toys. It did not take long for Moose and Mocha to become best of friends and WWE Wrestling Champions! Moose and Mocha's Dad is eager to get them involved in agility and obedience training and looks forward to sharing many wonderful years with them both. Thank you to the rescue organizations who have saved this wonderful boy and allowed him to share his love with everyone!

Kai has a home

His new Mom is active in the Scottish Community so he will have to make the transition to bagpipe music. His new clan's saying is great and we hope he'll live up to it, "For this I will Defend".

Update on Danny and Nikki

Shiba Rescue went out today to meet the pair in foster care by Akita Rescue.

This is the sweetest pair of shibas. Danny is just a wee bit smaller then Nikki. He is an eager learner and a very happy boy that loves to run with a toy in his mouth. Nikki is outgoing and very curious.

The foster Mom brought out treats and each one sat in turn for their treat. They were fitted for collars and harnesses and never fussed.

They are running side by side with an Akita Rescue and are not fence fighting with her. In fact, the Akita is trying to play with the Shibas.

This is a wonderful pair of Shibas and we will continue to work with Akita Rescue, (AARTA), to get them placed together.

Bonded pair of young Shibas need a home

Meet Danny(red) and Nikki(cream). The future breeding pair were left at the local Shelter when the owners were moving and could not take them with them. Their time was up at the shelter and AARTA came in to help us out since we had no space to put them. They are now safe and will be altered prior to placement.
Danny depends on Nikki as she is more dominant then he. Danny will wait for Nikki to eat and then will approach the bowl. Danny is an especially good kisser. They are a happy and enjoyable pair.
We would like to see them placed together since they are bonded.

We are especially grateful to Akita Rescue for taking in this young pair of Shibas when we could not find space before their time was up.

If you were thinking of adopting one Shiba, you might as well go for two. Most adopters find that one is not enough of this special little breed.

Kai is looking for a home

Unfortunately, Kai has returned to foster care. He could not adjust to pack life with another alpha male. So we are now looking for a home where he can be the only dog and center of attention.
He is an approximately 2 year old Red Shiba Inu with a zest for life. He is a small male weighing in at just 14 pounds and about 14 inches tall. He can get along with confident and dog savvy cats. If the cats run from him he will chase them as he sees it as a game.
Kai was originally surrendered when a new toddler came into the home. Since he is small he will not be placed in a home with children under the age of 10. Kai is an enjoyable and energetic dog. He likes meeting people and playing with his toys. He is leash trained, housebroken, current on his shots, microchipped, heartworm tested and recently health checked.
He's just waiting for a family to help him become the great dog that is inside him.

Kuma is looking for a new home

Meet Kuma. He is a big sesame boy with a big heart. He lost his family and ended up at the local county shelter where he was never claimed. Based on his size he was well loved by someone. But his time was up at the shelter and rescue took him in. Kuma weighs in at a hefty 46 pounds, but this is not that uncommon for some neutered males. He is on a diet including excercise to help him out though. He LOVES going for walks and is good on a leash.

He was recently health checked and the only issue he has is some mild seasonal allergies. He only needs over the counter meds during the allergy season. Other then that he has a clean bill of health.

Kuma is an eager learner and wants to please. He still has some puppy manners that we are working on. He does not like his tail pulled so we do not recommend him for a home with children under the age of 10 yrs. Continued work on nail trimming is needed but he is making a lot of progress. He responds quickly to commands and is food motivated so he is a quick learner.

Kuma is leash trained, crate trained, housebroken, nuetered, microchipped, heartworm checked and up to date on shots. He does need to be the only dog in the household and would be okay in a home with a cat if the cat has been exposed to dogs. If the cat runs he will chase the cat in play.

Kuma is a joy to be around and loves to "talk" in the morning to you. If you are looking for a shiba to "hang out" with you in the home, then Kuma is for you.

We wanted to let you know an "important" canine medical fact!

Most of us know that "chocolate" is very toxic to a dog's system...but did you know about coffee grounds? It is logical once you start thinking about it bcause caffeine is in chocolate also!
My sister's dog Pixie found the coffee filter and is now fighting for her life.

Bonded Pair Taka and Tori

The bonded pair of shibas, Taka and Tori, listed earlier have found a new home in Northern California. Things seem to be working well and they are fitting in nicely. The family admits that keeping them together has shown the ease in their adaptation into the new family. Both dogs are happy and calm while they learn the new routine and family. There still is a lot of adjustment for the family and the shiba pair but it all looks good.

We are planning a meeting and old fashion Ice Cream Social. All are welcome to come.
Bring a topping that you would like to share, and the club will provide the ice cream.
We hope to find a speaker on Bloat because there is some new info out there on it, what causes it, how to try to prevent it. But one that promised they would come backed out and we are trying to find another. If no speaker, we will have some of our members update us on some of their accomplishments in the performance world -- BRAGS!! -- Rally, Obedience, Agility, Carting to name a few along with some of the challenges involved in training an Akita.
Also we'll plan on an update from Akita Rescue on all the local dogs placed, the Palmdale CA dogs and all their accomplishments in the last year.

Microchip and shot clinics resume in Phoenix

GREAT NEWS!!!!The first new clinic will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2006 at the ASU Extension Center, 4341 E Broadway, Phoenix.
Times will remain the same...10am to 3pm with all multiple dogs registered prior to 2pm.
Chips will be $15, Shots w/chips $7 and just shots will be $12.
Directions:I-10 to 44th St, South to Broadway and then west on Broadway to 43rd Pl. 43rd Place and Broadway.
As in the past, all volunteers are welcome, even if you can only stay for an hour or so.

A Sweet Treat for your Sweet Shiba

Ice Cream for Canines

24 oz. low-fat vanilla yogurt (not frozen yogurt, regular yogurt)
1 - 3 bananas
1/3 cup of water
Put all ingredients in blender & liquefy.
Pour equal amounts into 4 oz. PAPER cups.
Place in freezer over night.
Makes 8 - 9 servings.

Little Boy Kai is looking for a home

Unfortunately, Kai has returned to foster care. He could not adjust to pack life with another alpha male. So we are now looking for a home where he can be the only dog and center of attention.
He is an approximately 2 year old Red Shiba Inu with a zest for life. He is a small male weighing in at just 14 pounds and about 14 inches tall. He can get along with confident and dog savvy cats. If the cats run from him he will chase them as he sees it as a game.
Kai was originally surrendered when a new toddler came into the home. Since he is small he will not be placed in a home with children under the age of 10.
Kai is an enjoyable and energetic dog. He likes meeting people and playing with his toys. He is leash trained, housebroken, current on his shots, microchipped, heartworm tested and recently health checked. He's just waiting for a family to help him become the great dog that is inside him.

Bonded Pair of Shibas looking for a new home

Tori is an approx 3 yr. old female sesame Shiba Inu. She was left behind with her future breeding mate, Taka, when her owner went through a divorce and could not take all her dogs with her. A friend cared for the bonded pair until her landlord told her they must go.
Tori is a friendly female and is outgoing and confident. We would like to place Tori with her bonded mate, Taka, who is more dependant on her. She gets alont with other dogs and calm cats She is housetrained and learning to walk on a leash. She is spayed and current on her shots, heartworm tested and microchipped. She is also learning to be crate trained.

Taka is an approx 3 yr. old male sesame Shiba Inu. Taka is a friendly male but is bonded to Tori so we would like to place the two of them together. He is good with most other male dogs and female dogs. He does get along with calm cats too. He is housetrained and learning to walk on a leash. He is neutered and current on his shots, heartworm checked and microchipped. He is also learning to be crate trained.
